In this case when you click an link it blocks your device and shows you message like “Transfer 100$ to Unblock your device” or “Contact our support to restore your device” , they will charge you for the service which was not even needed.

A Ransomware attack can take effect from visiting Malicious link, Text messages and much more. Typically when you get a link stating that you have won something or any bribe can be used to carry out ransomware attack on your device.
How Ransomware works?
Ransomware is a special type of virus developed in such a way that it can take access to your device and can transfer money to intruder even without your knowledge.
Any intruder try to send the link through E-mail, Text messages or any other means. Usually, when you open such a link, special program code modifies registry or autorun files, and the user sees this message. Thus, even if you transfer money to the intruder, nothing will change, and you still won’t have access to your device.
Still, there are more serious versions of ransomware, when you can lose all the information from your device. It should be noted, that in this case the malware does not make any backup, so your information will be lost forever.

How to protect yourself from Ransomware attacks?
- Don’t open mails from unknown sources.
- Don’t Download and open attachment from unknown sources.
- Use Antivirus programs to detect and delete Ransomware files.
- If your devices is blocked, don’t send money to intruder, as doing so will not solve your problem.
- Use Temporary mails to protect your original mails.
